Psychedelicacy is fueled by David Roda’s driving floor-tom beat and Will Shanks’ pulsating bass line. After Monsieur Obscure helps establish the theme in the opening minutes with droning peals of feedback, he procedes to develope the harmonic possibilities through a series of delicious legato melodies which are rather psychedelic in nature using the Dorian Mode. Several of the resulting moments are somewhat reminiscent of Hendrix’ more Middle Eastern-meets-intergalactic solo explorations. And it perhaps goes without saying that Psychedelicacy is entirely spontaneous and was never played before, nor has it ever been played since.
